Tips and Tricks
1.Muzamba -I've found that even the photos that don't meet the specific criteria still work quite well. It's been my personal experience that the biggest problem PhotoFit has is with shadows. That's why some pictures with heads turned slightly to the side are perfectly fine, while others get messed up during rendering. It all depends on the length, depth, and contrast of the shadows. I think this also explains why it has difficulty with some noses.

2.Udbacker - If you use a picture with a smile, you need to put the mouth markers down a little so the teeth will show up over the teeth in a smile. You can make the created player smile in facegen if you want to see what it will look like.

3.CHCfan- it's even easier to test the effect of smiling/anger directly within Facegen, with the sliders under the "Morph" tab.

4.Gambo – When importing into OOTP11, make sure your height and weight are correct for the player in OOTP11. This version does use BMI (body mass index) to affect the Face Gen images.

5.Gambo - If your image looks off color in the generator or your source picture is odd adjust the tones in the modeler program to get you a better Face Gen. Also, play with the morph to close the mouths if possible. Then save it and it will work better in the game.
If GOD is so perfect, how do you explain the Yankees?

Is there a way to do this within FG? Or only within OOTP?

Only within OOTP11. Just create a league and import full history and you will have every historical player.

Another way to remove the smile in the pictures is tu use the "details Texture Modulation" sliders. This slider will remove any smile, but you will need to make some adjustement with the color sliders after if the player had a moustache or a beard.

To Make Faces Look Better:

1) As I've said earlier. For those guys who played a good portion of their career without facial hair, we are trying to use pictures of them without the facial hair if possible. Good examples of these are Reggie Jackson and Rollie Fingers. (Remember, these can be added in later in game)

If you cannot find a good picture of the player without the mustache; when creating the photo fit, unclick the preserve facial hair option on the last step. This process does a good job of matching the texture in many cases.
This may also work in some cases where the player wears glasses.

2) Play with your color modifiers before saving the picture. Two of the sliders I use most often is the eye whitening and eye color adjusters. Depending on the quality of your picture this helps to adjust these features. Also, dont be afraid to adjust the skin tones to make the player look more realistic.

From AESpres,

How do you get past the watermarks at gettyimages?

Use the "Detail Texture Modulation" slider to remove it. You can save the complete web page with CTRL-S to get the picture without the watermark, but by doing this you don't get the high resolution photo.

My 19th century players are looking like they have a skin condition and are very splotchy. Has anybody found a way to correct this?

Alot of the colorized photos of players are not very good quality. Often there are two options that may result in an improvement.

1) Use black and white photo and colorize it yourself in the modeler.
2) Use a paint program (if you have one) to turn the photo into black and white and then proceed. This will often remove some of the blemishes.

Unfortunately not all photos you use will be straight forward. The tip with these is to place the markers where, if you were looking at a forward facing picture, would be.

On the eyes, always center it on the the middle of the pupil even if he is looking another direction.
On the cheeks and temples, move the marker forward a little bit to what you would be able to see if they were facing forward.
